Our ultrasonic nebulizers of the equosonic series (private, clinic) operate with a vibration frequency of the ceramic membrane of 1.7 MHz. This produces durable particles in a size range of 0.5 – 5 µm (microns).
Due to the high ventilation speeds in the fine bronchioles, effective inhalation must be calm, i.e., with a low breathing rate. The animal should not be moved beforehand, and immediate movement of the animal after treatment is also not advisable.
The package includes:
- Equosonic Clinic
- 230 Volt power bank for Equosonic Private/Clinic
- 6-meter hose for 3 sets of 2 meters each
- Extra-large inhalation mask 12 liters or normal 9 liters or small 7 liters (please select)
- 2 inhalation capsules
- Disinfectant cleaner 1000ml
- Pharmaceutical salt approx. 100 g
- Pharmaceutical saline 2% 1000 ml
- Sampling spikes and syringes
- 3 pcs. connecting hose (fan to inhalation capsule)
Technical data:
- Particle size 0.5-5 microns (fully lung-penetrating)
- Nebulizer output approx. 5.5 ml/min
- Power approx. 80 watts
- Operating voltage 230 volts 50Hz
What you still need to get started:
- approx. 500ml distilled water
Please also select the correct mask size for your horse:
12l volume for very large horses Dimensions: 28cm opening x 19.5cm base x 29cm height, opening circumference about 85cm, base circumference about 61cm, suitable for large horse breeds or short, powerful noses (Shire horses, etc.)
9l volume for normal horses Dimensions: 26cm opening x 19cm base x 24cm height, opening circumference about 80cm, base circumference about 58 cm, suitable for most horse breeds, such as warmbloods, larger riding ponies, Haflingers, etc.
7l volume for small horses Dimensions: 23cm opening x 17cm base x 21cm height, opening circumference about 72cm, base circumference about 53cm, suitable for small to medium ponies
The Open Mask
Our inhalation mask is made of high-quality, food-safe PE plastic in a bucket shape and comes without additional valves. Unlike closed mask systems, the animal does not have to actively inhale the aerosol mist. Instead, the generated mist is continuously directed into the mask via a ventilation system.
The open system allows for the most natural and relaxed breathing possible during use. A calm breathing situation can help aerosol particles distribute evenly in the airways. Due to the lower breathing speed during relaxed breathing, fine aerosols can also reach deeper areas of the airways.
Our inhalers continuously introduce the aerosol into the mask while the horse can inhale and exhale the mist calmly.
The Technology
Ultrasonic nebulizers are used to nebulize inhalation solutions for respiratory applications. Aerosol generation occurs through mechanical vibrations at a frequency of 1.7 MHz, which are produced in distilled water (contact water). These vibrations are generated by piezoceramic components that convert electrical energy into mechanical vibrations.
To physically separate the nebulizer from the nebulization unit, an aquapak® system is used within the contact liquid. The mechanical vibrations are transmitted through its base and spread in the inhalation liquid. At the surface of the NaCl or inhalation solution, fine capillary waves form, which intensify with increasing excitation frequency and enable aerosol formation.
The ultrasonic nebulizers of the equosonic series produce particle sizes of approx. 0.5 to 5 µm with a nebulization output of up to 6.5 ml/min. The generated aerosol spectrum can be distributed in different areas of the airways depending on particle size, breathing technique, and application situation.
Compared to technically simpler compressor nebulizers, ultrasonic nebulizers operate with high-frequency mechanical vibrations, allowing the production of fine aerosol particles. In the literature, particle sizes under 5 µm are described in connection with respiratory inhalation applications.
Over 95% of the surface of the respiratory system is located below the larynx. The bronchial system has extremely fine branches with very small diameters. Therefore, particle size plays a crucial role in the distribution of aerosol particles within the airways.
The ultrasonic nebulizers of the equosonic Private, equosonic Clinic, and equosonic free series operate with a ceramic membrane frequency of 1.7 MHz and produce aerosol particles in a size range of approx. 0.5 to 5 µm.
For the most even distribution of the aerosol, calm and relaxed breathing during use is recommended. Therefore, the animal should stand as still as possible during inhalation and should not be moved intensively immediately before or directly after the application.
Inhalation During Movement
We do not recommend inhalation during movement. Physical activity often changes the breathing pattern to faster and shallower breathing. This can alter the distribution of aerosol particles within the airways.
For the most even inhalation, the horse should stand as still as possible during the application. Movement after inhalation is generally possible with some time delay. However, immediately after the application, a short rest period of about 15 minutes is recommended. Regular exercise is important for horses in general but should not be combined directly with inhalation.
Your statutory warranty rights naturally apply and are not limited by our voluntary guarantee.
Additionally, we provide a voluntary 12-month guarantee on the device from the date of purchase.
Ultrasound units as well as batteries are consumable and wear parts. Their lifespan depends on usage, care, charging behavior, storage, water quality, and the inhalation solutions used. Replacement may therefore be required sooner or later.
For consumable and wear parts, the previous usage period is taken into account proportionally within the scope of our voluntary guarantee.
A defect in a consumable or wear part is not automatically a warranty case. In the event of a defect notification, we will technically inspect the device. If a statutory warranty case exists, subsequent performance will be provided free of charge.
