• Isotonic or hypertonic saline solutions: Used in certain situations for mucus dissolution.

• Essential oils (e.g. eucalyptus, chamomile): Can be used as a supportive measure for certain respiratory issues in consultation with a veterinarian, but should be used with caution, as some oils can be irritating. Some animals may also have allergic reactions to various oils.

• Medications (e.g. corticosteroids, bronchodilators): Are prescribed by the veterinarian as needed to treat respiratory issues. These medications should only be administered on veterinary instructions.

The frequency and duration of inhalation should be coordinated individually with the veterinarian. As a general guideline: 

• In case of acute complaints: 2 to 3 times daily for 10 to 15 minutes.
• For chronic respiratory problems: 1 to 2 times daily or as needed.
• The veterinarian's instructions should be followed exactly.

Yes, but make sure that the horse does not get cold after the inhalation. Ensure that the horse is housed in a warm and draft-free stable.

• Ultrasonic Nebulizer: Generates mist using ultrasound. Very powerful and low maintenance. Correct particle size and amount for optimal treatment. Our devices are only ultrasonic nebulizers.

• Mesh nebulizer: Mist is produced using a small sieve. Very quiet and lightweight technology. However, it is very low in performance and maintenance- and cost-intensive.

• Compressor nebulizers: Mist is generated using compressed air. They are rarely used today.

• Clean the device thoroughly after each use with warm water and a mild disinfectant.

• Make sure to thoroughly clean all parts of the device, including the mask and the nebulizer.
